You’ll be scored against the following key areas:
Physiological
Clinical research on heart-rate variability biofeedback has identified a specific "resonance frequency" near six breaths per minute, at which breathing and heart rhythm lock into phase — a protocol confirmed across a 2023 systematic review spanning 143 studies.
Emotional
Published research links sustained, genuine positive emotion to a measurable shift into a more coherent heart rhythm. Polyvagal theory adds the mechanism underneath that: your nervous system is constantly scanning below conscious awareness for safety or threat — a process called neuroception — before you've consciously decided anything at all.
Cognitive
Physician and researcher Dr Alan Watkins, who has coached FTSE 100 boards and Olympic athletes, proposes a clear causal chain: physiology shapes emotion, emotion shapes feeling, feeling shapes thought, and thought shapes behaviour. Most "thinking" problems are actually downstream physiological ones.
Behavioural
Watkins' research links inner state directly to observable behavior — how you show up under pressure changes measurably depending on your coherence level, whether you intend it or not. Decades of flow-state research (Csikszentmihalyi) show the same pattern: when challenge and skill are matched, performance and behaviour shift together, visibly.
Testimonials

"Before working with Alex, time management felt like constant symptom management and calendar reshuffling. She quickly identified the real issue, over-committing, and helped me build a practical approach to managing my calendar and priorities that actually stuck.
Her coaching was just as valuable when I hit a difficult team dynamic. She helped me clarify my leadership commitment, which turned a tense situation into a genuinely productive conversation. Alex has a real gift for getting straight to the core of an issue."

Alex is a great coach. She supported me during a time of transition. Alex is patient, kind, professional and she helped me gain clarity that was much needed for me to move forward to the next chapter. I would highly recommend working with her!
